I'm not going to watch it, but my guess is it's going to happen on Pacific where the date line thing is.

I guess I better be sure that if I'm going to be captured by cannibals or superstitious medieval people that I should make sure I do it at just that exact time and place.

I watched it from Jakarta (9 March UTC+7, 8 March UTC, mind you I'm not in the path of totality but 89% sun obstruction), and had some good photoraphs of it ! Will upload some when I can retrieve them from cameras.

Probably I could ask someone else who got to stick some DSLR cameras to their telescope - mine was flocked with people wanting to see it (it happens mine has the longest focus (higher magnification), more protected position and fairer tracking than the others). Some people certainly stick their phones to the eyepiece (while I don't !). Noticed fair cooling and less bright Sun during the maximum extent, risked looking at the Sun without any protection in short zip, and I can see the crescent shape, so I guess worth it.

 

@Aghanim I personally know well the operator of that public telescope must be very busy handling all the visitors !
