[CALLING ANY YOUTUBERS] i need some help

I like windows movie maker, but there are a few small features that it seems to be missing:

1- there's no cinematic black bar setting (or is there? i haven't seen it)

2- i can only add one audio layer to a video

The first one i can live without, but i'd really like a way to get around the second one. Specifically, i'd like to have background music, outside sound effects, and kerbish talk in my ksp cinematics, yet i can only have 2 out of 3 at best. I'd prefer not to shill out $300 for a new editing program for these two features.

so basically is there a way to play two sounds in movie maker at the same time? If not, is there a way i can still have three sounds? I was thinking of overlaying them in audacity, but that seems like it would add so much more complexity and be way too time consuming. is there another way?

Thank you very much for your help :)

Just today, I asked someone else the very same question you're asking here. You can add multiple audio layers to a video by first saving the video, with one audio layer, as an MP4 file. Then re-open that video in Movie Maker, add your second audio layer, and so on. It's a bit odd to do, but it works.

Blender can be used as a video editor.  Just search using Blender as a video editor.

Blender is an incredible non-linear video editor and I use it for all my videos. Best of all, its free! Can't recommend it enough.

Although, it is somewhat complicated to get the hang of. You'll definitely have to watch some tutorials to get you started.

I wouldn't know, all my videos so far are montages. Anyone know of a free screen recorder that's free and records more than 10 mins?

Yeah, OBS.  Open Broadcasting Software.  It's open source, free, records in high quality with no watermark, and you can stream directly from it.

Thanks! Someone commented the same software on my channel, so I'll definitely take a look!

I own both Bandicam and FRAPS, but use OBS because IMO it's better.

As far as video editing, I've never tried Blender but am a fan of VideoPad. It's not free but compared to most video editors it's pretty cheap. I think I paid about $50 for it.
