you'll still need at least two of them for a custom diameter SRB  1 open ended and the other for the nose , in order to get something flush. Though it'll be much more forgiving for sure

I will try them again, I just got frustrated, and had so much work to do, that's why I dropped them.

Yep, just found out the video software when encoding the video for youtube was compressing it quite a lot, I am going to recreate the video in iMovie with uncompressed video (I didn't do this previously because the video had no audio on OS X, once the raw video is converted to something OS X can understand it works properly). So new video and updated shuttle coming as time permits.

My point is you will be able to cover the entire SRB with one fairing. Yes the diameter will be limited but it could easily be 2.5m with a standard nose cone. I am sooo happy we will be rid of that crazy 'feature'.

MK II on the way, I am pretty happy with the orbiter, she is about a meter too long in the bay, but I decided to not clip her for the sake of aesthetics, more and better placed RCS, mono powered OMS, wings have been almost completely rebuilt, she handles like a dream, no extra RW or RCS needed on re-entry, in fact I left the computer before she hit atmosphere with her nose at 30' by the time I got back she was at 37km and 1300ms still at 30'. I just landed in complete darknesst on the grass somewhere, I don't know where, on Kerbin, that's how easy it is.
