Cooler loading screens.

Not to be insuIting or demanding, but I do not quite like the recent loading screens. For one thing, smiling kerbals don't strike me as "good looking" (though they do look very humorous, and reflect the game's style, which is very well thought-out). I put two example image-arrays for you to choose from, to see what style you support.

So, what do you think, what should we do with the loading screens?

Yeah, that one is my favourite, I was actually considering putting it up as my wallpaper. We need more loading screens that look like this.

Umm...

...in my mind, neither sets work. The first image of the first set does get repetitive, the third image is a copy of the second, and (also regarding the third image of the first set) it needs an update; the wings on that ship are the old Delta wings.

...as for the second set, yes they are beautiful, but I think they are too enhanced. I don't want to see the images in the second set and think 'this is what KSP will look like!' only to play and be disappointed by the lack of scenery seen in the load-up images.

 

...but please bear in mind that this is what I think. I'm a minority, and my opinion(s) have no impact unless they are carried by a large mob. Take what I think with a pinch of salt.

I like the images, but after some time even they will get boring and repetitive. I think it would be nice if you could set up your own images to rotate during loading screens. For example a special folder in the game directory where you'd drop in your screenshots and they would show up at random during the loading screen.

What would be really awesome is if:

1. There's a new folder titled "LoadingScreens"
2. Every loading screen is randomly selected from the folder.
3. The pictures in the folder are 1280x720 PNG images, the same as screenshots.

This means that players can draw their own loading screens, use screenshots, or download new loading screens from the forums.

Your idea looks promising but shouldn't it have rotation rounds like 3 loading screens for one load then a second group of 3 loading screens

I do wish that like some other games, the loading screens were "out in the open" where you could roll your own.

I would like a plain black screen, so the game can spend that time loading the game instead of loading the loading screens.

I would also like the developers to develop the game instead of making the loading screens customizable.

Status quo supporter here.

The second set would be great for KSP prequel "Kerbal Airways"* but not so good for KSP.

*Assuming Kerbal Airways is something that exists outside of my head.

I think the idea has the most chance of satisfying the most people: "Don't like the loading screens? Use your own! If doesn't like the idea AT ALL, just leave the folder empty and a black loading screen will be shown..."
