Soyuz? On the 'debris' it's written COIO3 (somewhat) which in Russian means Soyuz!

Fun Fact:- The Soyuz was built to be the Soviet version of the Apollo CSM. It would have launched on the N-1 if it was not a giant bomb that explodes on launch.

Infact It stands СОЮ3 Советск Whitch translated from russian means Union of soviet socialist republicks or USSR.

That would be Союз Советских Социалистических Республик, or "СССР".    While Сою́з does indeed mean "Union", that is just the name of the craft.  The translation of Советский Союз is just simply Soviet Union.

Союз = Union

("of" is implied)

Советских = Soviet

Социалистических =Socialist

Республик = Republics

In Russian, "CCCP", translated to English, "USSR". It's almost a coincidence (albeit intentional) that the name of the craft is also the fist part of the name of the government (at the time).

Russians like to do this with their spacecraft by the way: "Mir" means "world" or "peace" in Russian, "Zvezda" means "star".
