Sick of Stock Vessels

Recommended Posts

I am running numerous sandbox saves, and they're all good, except one thing: Stock Vessels. I despise these things. I never use them, and there's no way to delete them or turn them off. It just makes it a lot more difficult to find your own saved ships. So I resorted to making a science save with 1000% science rewards. Am I alone in thinking these should be optional for sandbox, or have their own little folder?

I think there's a difficulty option for it.

They do have their own little folder, don't they ?!

Not in the vessel select screen.

I checked yesterday, itś an option for science and career mode, I think, but not sandbox.

I consider this a standard part of installing KSP , that and copying my settings and saves over.

Same, only I delete most stock parts as well. Maybe except for the probe parts and computer cores. All the stock parts needs a serious overhaul. Good thing there are plenty of part mods out there :)

Ehh, deleting any of the stock parts probably isn't a good idea.

There is an overhaul on the way though. We already know theres going to be graphics updates/overhauls in 1.2.

Deleting stock parts is no different from deleting certain parts from other mods. A lot of people pick and chose which parts they want from different mods. I usually delete all the fuel tanks from AIES but keep the rest. Removing the stock parts has no negative impact what so ever.

Rather than deleting the stock vessels entirely from your game (as they're useful for certain debugging purposes), one can always hand-edit the savefiles to disable stock vessels in the current savegame (regardless of gamemode).

Open up your persistent.sfs file for your current savegame in a text editor, do a search for AllowStockVessels and change the value to False.

Thanks for that tip. :)
