Inquiry about a clean 1.0.5 install

Recommended Posts

So it might be a painfully obvious solution I'm not seeing, but I'm drawing a blank. I'm craving a good RO/RSS play through, but it has yet to update to the latest version of KSP.  (Which is fine and dandy, I understand it's a large mod pack that takes a lot of work, and I'm sure the modders are doing their best.)

Long story short, how does one go about obtaining a 1.0.5 install? Anybody able to file-share it?

When 1.1 first landed you could select Kerbil in your games library and in the right click menu, under properties I think? You could select to roll back to the last stable version which was 1.0.5 but with there being 2 patches since I'm not sure what the last version is now. Do you copy your steam install to a different directory for play or just have the one, because you can have as many different installs as you like.

Edit : As for file sharing, I think that is prohibited.

I tried and it goes to 1.1, so maybe I'm just out of luck.

Also so I didn't even think of that bit about file sharing. Oops. I swear I paid full price for the game.

Steam usually has a "beta" for the "previous stable release".  That should be 1.0.5, no?  (haven't tried it myself, 1.0.5 can die in a fire.  That's not to say 1.1 is perfect, but it's advantages outweigh it's flaws, even if my landers DO look funny with cubic octags for legs)

KSP -> Properties -> Betas -> "previous - Previous Stable Release"

(again, haven't used that myself in a long time, but it should be 1.0.5)

This is the exact reason why I copy clean installs of every KSP version I download as well as mods I use, as well as the latest modded game when you go to a new version.   It also helps you with your KSP fix when you grow tired of the current latest save you're playing (IE: I have a .90 save with remote tech where I'm slowly getting 100% coverage for all the whole kerbol system)
