I would argue that his KSP 1.0 beginners career mode tutorial (~35 videos?) is his most important series because of how wide of a reach it spans to help and teach new people how to play the game. It was amazingly helpful for me, and was how I really learned how to play the game.

I really like everything he does, but I think that takes the cake because of how helpful it is. Everything else he does is very entertaining and cool, but doesnt teach to the extent the career mode tutorials do.

Go Scott Manley. :)

Why would I want to watch someone else playing a video game rather than playing it myself? When I can't work out how to do something I'll turn to the internet and youtube is a great source of tutorial videos, and with Scotts stuff I know I'll get some useful information rather than some spanner who know less than I do bumbling around and failing to do something that I can already fail pretty well at.

As someone who both makes (and hears from viewers) and watches (so has experienced it himself) videos of games on the Internet, I feel I can address this. I can't tell you how many times I've been watching someone play who is either about my level or above (never below. I agree with you that those are just exercises in frustration) do something that I feel I know how to do perfectly well, and suddenly they do something I don't quite get. I watch, wonder why they're doing it that way, and suddenly I realize that what they're doing is BETTER than my way.

Because my way worked I would never have looked for how to do it, and because the person doing the video never thought it was a big deal they never would have made a tutorial anyway, but there it is, a little nugget of awesome.

Also, some people are just REALLY GOOD at doing videos. Some people watch Real Housewives. Some watch Trucker Fishermen of the Arctic or whatever qualifies as "History" nowadays on the History channel. Some watch sports or sit on their porch watching cars drive by. I like watching people play video games during those times I either can't or don't feel like playing them myself yet am idle and want to be entertained.

^^^ Totally this (also subbed to this guy's channel because his sense of humor is so very close to mine.)  I can't stand television beyond the occasional serial (GoT, the first True Detective, a few others) and college sports (I'm actually a football-husband, I only watch because my wife doesn't complain about me drinking heavily then), and I'm not much of a movie-goer.

As for Scott Manley, probably Interstellar Quest because I watched it religiously, really fun series.  I never watched his tutorials because I learned the game from watching Chickenkeeper24 before I even knew Scott Manley was a thing, and it was really hard to get into Serious Business because I know more about RO than Scott does (the mod package, not actual spaceflight).

This makes me wonder... does Scott Manley have a forums account? @Scott Manley oh a quick little search says there is one but is this person probably isn't him as this is the internet.

Yes he does and no, that's not him.

I picked Interstellar because it seemed the most interesting, though I enjoyed reusable before it crashed and burned as well.  I haven't watched many of Scott's videos lately, I think RSS may be fun to play but it's so incredibly slow starting that it's just very boring to watch (sorry Scott, if you're reading this).

jhawk, @syzygy is his user name by the way, same as his YouTube channel name/url.  Though I don't know how much time he actually spends here on the forums.

The only post I've seen him make is on this wonderful fantastic mod!

I can certainly see where you're coming from.  I see more and more people taking about series on Youtube but I think I still see it as a source of amusing clips or short tutorials rather than an equivalent of a TV channel.  I think I'm getting old :D

Interstellar Quest used to show some of the not-your-everyday-KSP-experience. Kerbal Spaceships sticks more to the sorts of things we do but right now it's getting more interesting. Also nice to learn sth about all the different real rocket engines and fuel types.

I voted Interstellar Quest as it was that series that brought me into KSP when I accidentally stumbled upon it (I think it was episode 3 or 4). Only one that I didn't enjoy as much as others was Reusable Space Program. I can't really say why as I don't know, but others just felt a bit more fun to watch.
