Stock fairings: disable snap?

A bit of a random UI question: is there a way to disable the "snap to constant radius" behaviour when building a stock fairing section?  It's handy, but it also prevents access to a significant range of angles.

+1 to this idea.  Would love to be able to (temporarily) disable it by holding down CTRL or something.

Or maybe make it work like the translate/rotate widgets, so that if you hold down SHIFT, the granularity gets 3x finer.  Honestly, a lot of my gripe with the snap is not so much that I can't turn it off, it's just that the snapping is too coarse a lot of the time.

Anyway, pretty sure that the answer to the OP's question is "No, there isn't."

If you'd like to make this into a suggestion (i.e. "please make it so") rather than a question, I'd be happy to move this over to Suggestions.

I remember seeing a mod that mellowed the snap of the stock fairings to something more reasonable.   Unfortunatly this was months ago, no idea about it now.
