This is a Work In Progress (WIP) so please be patient, It will be finished soon, I will have an update log at the bottom.

  • Cruise speed: 191.6 m/s

  • Flight endurance: 12 hours

KSP U-2 (V2) Spy plane Specifications:

General

  • Length: 19.2 m
  • Wingspan: 31.4 m
  • Height: 5 m
  • Empty weight: 15.88 tons
  • Max. takeoff weight: 46.788 tons

Performance

  • Maximum speed: 934 m/s *dive speed before wing rip
  • Cruise speed: 319 m/s at 15,000m and 201 at sea level
  • Stall speed: 15.2 m/s
  • Service ceiling: 14,000m
  • Flight endurance: 1 hour 17 mins - 1 kerbal day and 1 hour (depends on altitude, and speed)

 

 

 

Versions:

V1: basic outline of the vehicle, not yet fully functional at operable altitude.

V2: makes the V1 a more realistic comparative of the real U-2's specifications (downloadable on KerbalX upon release)

V3 (He-50): custom tandem cockpit variant designed for use in my He-50 series of warplanes. seen below

Not U-2!
Looks great and to think you kept mostly within the actual dimensions.
 

It can easily cruise at the same air pressures as the real U-2 (60% less than the U-2's max alt due to Kerbin being smaller) at almost twice the speed as well.

 

The dimensions are spot on, except for the tail section is 5m tall, not 4.88m tall.

Thanks! Did anyone notice I changed the engine through the designing of the V2, so the first image isn't technically the final product, the rest are? lol woops

I added the He-50 variant, designed for maximum flight time instead of top speed or altitude, it is a "scientific research craft only" and most definitely isn't going to spy on my competitors.
