I'm going to make another lets play video! Only this time, of chess! The legendary age  old board game of advanced strategy and combat. I'll post the video here when it's made! 

However in the meantime, I need someone to play against! That means you'll need a good microphone and semi-decent chess playing ability. If you want to game, let me know!

Sort of the same boat. The concept of helping someone with a let's play is generally appealing, but the last time I won a chess game was when I was 16 and playing against an 11 year old (because being a lifeguard is the best summer job ever), and I almost lost. The bike races tended to be more in my favor. They had me in the turns, but I could gain it all back on the straights.

Anyway, I decided to end my chess career on it's highest note, so I've not played in years.

 

I'd play checkers though. Just be warned that checkers is boring and I am stunningly bad at it. I figure I'm exactly as good at checkers now as I was when I was 5. Games that require me to think several steps ahead are...not my strong suit. Every time I try to plan ahead, I plan incorrectly and the moves don't work out (or rather, the moves aren't actually possible as I imagined them).

I have a 1713 ELO rating on Lichess currently, (better than about 60% of players on there). What server were you planning to use? If your interested, you can PM me on here or on my Lichess account here. I have a built in mic, nothing fancy. I consider my chess playing ability to be above semi-decent.

Might be a tad bit *too* good- BUT if need be I might have to pick you.

Maybe, maybe not, my play quality can vary greatly depending on how hungry I am, how tired I am, etc. 

What time control are you going to use?

None, take as long as you want as long as it's reasonable (don't take 15 minutes on one turn, but your not limited to 35 seconds).

Ok, I'm used to 10+0. I'm just not sure how you can do a lets play vid of a long game of chess.

With lots and lots of editing! I DO hope you've got some personality and discussion as thats where the material, it will allow for decent progression. Granted again, if you need silence to think for a period of time, then ofc we can pause for you to think but don't stay silent for 35 minutes straight. If possible try to multitask between playing and discussing.

I can discuss a game, as to personality, I think I can be interesting and add to the video. We would be discussing why we made certain moves, strategy stuff (like controlling the center), that sort of thing? I think I can do that. Would you like to play a game with me just to get a feel of how I play and how good I am?

Well we'd be discussing quite a few topics, but I'll give you time to think on them if need be. Some space related and some not.
