Not necessarily. I can only draw simple objects with clearly defined edges (not rounded) and as an orthographic projection. As soon as I add perspective or objects which are even slightly more complex that a cube I can't.

Me and a couple of flatmates actually gave it go a while back with acrylics. Results were... varied, and we had to pause it every couple of minutes. although that may be more to be with the state we were in, which is best not discussed on this website. :P Did actually help me a little, though, seeing as I'd never painted before then.

I don't paint landscapes like he does. I think forests and mountians are cool and beautiful but also a bit overrated.

One usefull thing i learned from him that you should never fill with single solid colors only. This makes the painting ugly and childish looking. People still at my school still manage to sneak this technique into their art exams and its sort of dissapointing.

Instead, you shouldn't be afraid of mixing and adding extra layers on the canvas. You should also make individual strokes when painting everything that isn't the sky or water, people usually associate it with Vincent van Gogh and pointillism and throw in the bin, to continue painting like a child who has just discovered paint.

This isn't the most common problem out there, but it still exist and it doesn't require years of experience to master.

I got myself a laptop, it is quite old, though i don't mind that.

I am still drawing in MSpaint, with no progress in my art style, at all. 

So, yeah, take a look at what i drew:

It looks pretty good, althought the white/yellow stars and lines look a bit distracting and out of place. I don't mind the tiny dots though. The Probe is a bit off centre and wich bothers me a bit. But overall, this looks like something i would like to put on my wall as poster, nice!

I colored a drawing of mine. Not too happy with it. The hair looks off and the face is a little empty.

No, this looks great !

The merging lines needs some rework though. Think of mission patches/insignias. It's fine to put them behind objects for a while.

These are the final 'Lemmy' character drawings. Next up is 'Denny' (the character with the bright pink hair). After that, im straying away from the girly characters. I have a bunch of Sci-Fi war stuff to show you guys and gals.

Renamed the 'Denny' character to 'Bibi', because i had a very simulair character in my drawings folder with the name Bibi, and thought, why not make them the same person?

On to the Sci-Fi: I drew parasite crafts with the star-shaped pyramid laser protection from @MatterBeam's Tough Sci-Fi blog.

Im not good geometric shapes, especially not 3D stars, but if you can just picture the cone on top is a star pyramid, it should be fine.

It has chemical laser, and the line/border on the con.. i mean star pyramid is the hatch for all the cutting and parasite gizmos.

 

Bradwurst-Man returns. Tracing the shadows of a photograph creates this very cool effect. I think i will use something like it for my *permanent* profile picture.

Its a start i geuss. I don't like the coloring job very much. You can see that i left anti-aliasing on on one of the lines. Shading is also not perfect.
