Jool-in-the-Crown - Jool 5 craft

Recommended Posts

Here's the Jool-in-the-Crown science mission craft.

It is capable of visiting all the 5 moons of Jool and returning a Kerbal and all the science collected to Kerbin from a single launch with plenty of dV to spare...

Do Laythe first with the jet-powered stage and then the others in any order, using the add-on rocket stage for Tylo. The lander-can stage can do the other three moons on it's own when refueled between landings.

Refuel from the black & white LF+O and RCS tanks between missions.

Transfer the Kerbal along with the science to the inline cockpit for the return journey, discarding the lander and top-up tanks tanks before departing.

I think a few people are worried about post count so they don't reply. Shame.

I know there is a Laythe pic but did you manage to fly the full mission?

Yup. Just didn't make an album as Imgur doesn't seem to be working very well with the forum at the moment.

Did a Laythe gravity brake, then out to Tylo and the others.

Foxster, imho this is one of the best craft ever posted.

Ascent is as smooth as silk (even if I'd rather have a little bit moar boosters for the transfer burn) and the landing package is a great one. I love the design of the jet add-on.

Really awesome.

Cheers.
