SPH/VAB Scenery Synchronization

Even though game time stops in the VAB/SPH (and, in contrast, REAL time passes very quickly) it would be a nice touch if the 'view of outside from inside' matched the 'view of outside from outside' at the time you go inside. :huh:

In short, yes I agree with the OP.

From a game play perspective I'm not a huge fan of having to build in the dark.

The lights inside the VAB at night would have to be bright enough to give similar illumination as you would see in day time.

If you look at the images of the day/night mod mentioned earlier in this thread, it looks way too dark in the VAB at night to be practical.

You do raise a good point. If good illumination was used, I think this might not be a big problem then.

The idea in principle is good, but seeing as lights in the VAB/SPH are one of the direct causes of CPU/GPU being pushed harder than in flight mode, I'd rather not have a day/night cycle that would force me to have lights on while editing a craft.

A day/night toggle to do a quick check of what our craft looks like in the dark, like the mentioned mod does, now that I would be ok with being stock.

I'm all for this.

Options are always better than changes.

Give us a button in the VAB that toggles day/night mode for purely testing lighting setups on crafts. Then give us a toggle option in the game play menu for "auto day/night switch in VAB/SPH" so those that want it to match the time of day.
