"Hub" Part

So I know we already have a(n albeit crammed) living space (the Hitchhiker) but I'm think for longer space missions, wouldn't an interaction chamber be more reasonable? Somewhere where the kerbals could exercise, etc.

For the stock game there's no real reason to from a gameplay perspective, because there are no game mechanics that would be affected. An interaction chamber, Hitchhiker module or four Mk1 capsules stacked end to end, would all work equally as well as each other for transporting four kerbals.

However, I completely agree that a) a revamped IVA view for the Hitchhiker and b) more varied parts for accommodating kerbals would be good things to have.

For my long voyage craft I like to simulate work, sleep, and community spaces just for my own immersion. I usually add a greenhouse but am not motivated to install any type LS mods. I like the design process but not the SIMS tedium. If LS were stock I'd probably turn it off pretty quick. That's just me. I would eagerly add hab modules to my craft though just because. It doesn't have to have a purpose for me to use it. YMMV

From a gameplay perspective I think that affected factors (life support) really need to be implemented.

So, cart before the horse?

I disagree with the life support implementation.  It just makes things way to complicated for the stock game and there are so many unique LS mods, choosing one to implement (or making a new one) is going to make the majority unhappy anyway.  They should just stay as mods.

Uhhh sure.

I just find it kinda silly to have a multi-month journey with nothing for the kerbals to do other than sit in their Mk3-Cabin seats. Just imagine the cramps!
