I play on 1.1.3 just so i can have astronomers visual pack without lag.

Recommended Posts

So, a few months ago 1.2 came out. A month after that stock visual enhancements came out for 1.2. I installed it and experienced 13 fps. So i got back my 1.1.3 file and installed astronomers visual pack. and i had 30-40 fps on the launchpad. Like really? What is going on here?

note: i did install both mods manually because i knew ckan would make preformance even worse.

Ckan doesn't effect preformance

You may wish to try enabling the legacy terrain shader. I don't use it myself and can't speak to its effectiveness, but it's one of the few recent changes I have seen mentioned that can decrease performance.

Didn't affect preformace, and only made the game look worse.

It's funny because I was actually legitimately able to assume the title of this thread upon seeing the first 4 words.

Also, welcome back Matchlight. If you didn't realize, I beat you in the AVP running properly in the latest version of KSP contest :P

should work fine

I know it should... I've tried installing it over a dozen times just in the last two days... After following this article it still got me no-where...

I've created a folder of screenshots showing where each folder sits... Would you like to see it?

Haha, so you did :) Competition doesn't bother me... Anyway, I've installed your pack and sorry for my disprespectfulness earlier, I must have done something wrong on the install a dozen times... Anyway, I finally have it installed yet I have a... problem...

Kerbin has a wispy white layer over the top of it making it impossible to see the surface, the moon glow of the mun is working so I think you mod is working its just the clouds... Any fix? this happens on Every planet with clouds, the corresponding color of the clouds creates the color of the wisp so I think it has something to do with that, do you know how to fix it?

The picture of GameData would be nice :P

(So many people are installing the mod horribly wrong haha)

That is his gamedata folder. he is on a mac so it looks different

The GameData in that imgur profile was from July 2016, on a separate attempt to reboot AVP by someone else :/

Im guessing he made the same mistake now, then. Do not directly extract the optional features and such into GameData. Open the folder and subsequent folders until you find GameData, then drag that GameData folder directly into your KSP installation.

I think he just posted those images to the same album, so it looks like they were posted in July, when he was rebooting AVP. But yes, it looks like he installed a lot of the mod incorrectly either way.

Hold on, I'm on a Mac, this would Overwrite the entire gamedata folder, destroying the folder squad and all my other mods.

Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware. Just drag and drop the things inside the GameData folders of AVP into the GameData of your KSP installation.
