Stock-alike Solar System Expansion

 

THREAD UNDER CONSTRUCTION

 

Now that SASS has all the bodies I wanted it to have, I thought to make a separate mod to add even more bodies for those people who like a lot of bodies to explore.

Like SASS, this expansion will include stockalike analogues of bodies found in the solar system.

I want to add the most famous/interesting bodies, so everybody list the bodies you think are the most interesting in our solar system, I already have a list, but the more suggestions the best the final product will be!

System Description

This mod rearranges bodies from other mods to reproduce the Solar System but with a Kerbal style.

Each body has the same surface gravity, but 1/10th of the radius compared to their real life counterpart.

Currently there are:

Settings

This mod comes with three optional settings, all off by default.

You can activate any of them in the Settings.cfg file you find in the StockalikeSolarSystem folder.

  • KerbalizedNames - Gives all bodies stockalike names
  • RealSizeSystem - Gives all bodies the same size as their real life counterpart
  • UranusTilt - Gives Uranus 90° Axial tilt
  • Year1 - Sets the starting year

Easter Eggs

Stock-alike Solar System Expansion features a certain number of easter eggs. If you find an easter egg in game please do not spoil the surprise for other players. If you want to post about an easter egg in the thread, hide everything inside a spoiler and put a warning outside so that people know that there are easter egg informations inside the spoiler.

For Mimas, I would use a recolor of Mobe.

Mission went excellently! Unfortunately, I do not have any screenshots or videos. However, I plan to redo it again and I will try to have pictures next time.

Cruithne would be awesome, and so would 2016 HO3. Just try not to go overkill :wink:

I am also working on a mod that makes kerbin look like earth in a stock-alike style. I would be more then happy to let you use it :)

I like to keep Kerbin as the Earth analogue, it looks similar enough without being exactly identical.

do you remember which version of SASS you used for your mission?

The one before 0.4.0

I also plan to use this in my next carrer playthrough one the expansion comes out. I'm super excided! :)

Also, I would use bring KPlus back and use some of the bodies from there. I would use Shay as Eris and possible Kalas as Sedna.

I didn't notice, thanks, this thread is still on the discussion phase tho, so there is no download for SASSx yet :)

Perhaps cloud texture in scaled space for Titan as well?
