Is there a mod that lets you deploy a kerbal without a vehicle?

Hello!

First forum post, could not find anything on google.

I'm looking for a mod that would allow me to deploy a kerbal without a vehicle. I'm trying a new play-style in my new career where I keep my reusable spacecraft at the KSC, and use fuel trucks to refuel, and personnel transports to get the pilots to their vehicles. Does anybody know of a mod that adds this functionality? Extra points if it deploys them outside the astronaut complex!

Take command is a mod which allows you to put kerbals in external seats from within the VAB. Like how you assign crew to pods

afaik, Walkabout is exactly what the OP asks for - yet all the times I've tried it on 1.2.2 resulted in a crash... might be due to one of my other hundred-or-so mods conflicting somehow,  I didn't really bother to check

 

another way to do it no mods required, spawn in a pod and EVA the occupants, then recover the pod -- FASA has a launch tower clamp part that holds a number of crews inside - so that works too
