Satellite Probe Orbit Mission

I've done a few probe missions before just fine but am stumped as to why this isn't working.

Here's a photo ( click to enlarge ):

 

 

Probe minimal deviation should be:

 

AP 1,442,633
PE 868,661

Inclination 123

Longitude AN 139.50
Argument of Periapsis 146.8

 

If I change my inclination to 123 deg however, the orbit will be an exact opposite "x" from what the pink line-guide is showing. NO matter what I do it won't finish. It was also built after the contract started.

Upon closer inspection - looks like my probe is headed against the direction of the moving pink line. Ugh

Happens to all of us from time to time.

The An and Dn values on the target orbit should go to 0 when you get into the right inclination. If they are 180, you are going the wrong way.

Looks like it, KER's showing an inclination of 57 degrees, and the target's 123 degrees.  You just might be able to reverse it, what's your orbital velocity at apoapsis?

With 356m/s in the tanks it's a very slim chance tho.

Nah, plenty of deltaV. 

Orbital speed 176,8.

176.8*2=353.6 ... but that is whitout raising the Ap before orbit inversion.

Still gotta tidy the orbit up after inverting tho.... (raised eyebrows),  actually yeah, you're right methinks.

Of course "plenty" is an exaggeration.  But the only real riska I can foresee are 1) wasting deltaV in unnecessary maneuvers 2)mess up trying to reverse the orbit without raising ap first (because unexpected/unaccounted inefficiency).

Both can be remedied if he saves in the current situation.
