Sunday SUPER Nova

Recommended Posts

Venku Rocket International presents to you the Sunday SUPER Nova lift vehicle. This four stage rocket successfully combines every know rocket dimension standard into a single spaceworthy vehicle.

HD VIDEO

Stage 1. 6 Liquid Fuel Rocket engines propel the vehicle halfway through the atmosphere.

Stage 2: 2m Big Effen Engine propels the vehicle into space.

Stage 3: 1m E-1000 series engine deorbits the vehicle and allows for a powered landing

Testing: Numerous tests were performed to iron out various issues. Due to the various part diameters many adapters were used. Several test flights failed due to excessive wobbliness between the adapter connections. Also the sheer weight and length of the vehicle caused several maneuverability problems and many test vehicles failed when they tumbled off course and were ripped apart by the atmosphere.

The .craft file is attached below if any of you would like to try it out for yourselves. Addons used include Sunday Punch's parts pack v1.09, NovaSilisko's parts pack version 1.1 excelsior series engines, and the Heat Management pack.

I installed all the listed required part packs and I am still unable to load the ship. Is it possible you forgot something, op?

If you open the debug window (ALT-F2) before loading, you should be able to see the last part that the game attempted to load for the ship. This would be the part you're missing.

Arrr!

Check to see if you have the lander leg and also download the Saturn v pack as I may have used the sas from it. The debug console should also help

takes longer than 3 minutes to exit the atmosphere at a speed below 100m/s...

It's too big to be effective, but cool if you can make it stop wobbling.

The point of the rocket was to combine all the diameter standards into one orbit capable vehicle. Not to get into orbit as quickly and efficiently as possible
