KSP Self-Deleted?

Recommended Posts

Well, KSP just mysteriously deleted on me and it appears to be permenant. I'm not sure exactly what happened, I just opened the file and the game was gone. In it's place was a strange cache of files. I do not have a computer virus, and the game rarely if ever crashed for me so I'm not sure what happened. Any help will be appreciated, otherwise I will just re-download and forge on. Thanks.

Unless your KSP computer is running a fresh OS install and has never seen the internet or a file from the internet (impossible, since that's where KSP comes from), you can't say that for sure.  There isn't an infallible antivirus on the planet.

It does seem unlikely that you would have a virus with a mission to destroy KSP, however.  I would be a little concerned about the health of the HD.  Back up everything first, and do a heath check on your HD.  There's no shortage of utilities out there to check your SMART data.  If you're on Windows, I would also check the fragmentation.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about it and it may have just been my anti-virus doing a file clean up that "cleaned up" KSP. Anyway I'll try that.
