This sort of thing has happened before: I can’t remember the link or organization, but there was an article on the Falcon 9 droneship landing that used KSP screenshots as “simulation footage.”

Yikes, that's an old screenshot, 1.25m small reaction wheels. I am impressed with the quality of the replica given that it's at least 3.5 years old (0.25). I am also disappointed that the media is unable to tell an actual image or a CGI image apart from a video game image. EDIT: The guy who wrote the article was a gamer, ignore that.

Also, apparently you have to agree to the TOS just to access the wiki now...

Online news are a really bad BS for most of it. Unless they have real-world operations (ie. "good old media").

I find it odd though that Fox has "better" science coverage than BBC and CNN.

I have seen this before many times, i don't have anything against it though. Its just sort of funny.

I think there was a NASA documentary where they showed a clip of KSP just when they were talking about 'simulation software'

Didn't chinese television also show a KSP clip when talking about the simulation capabilities of a new super computer?
