Stage Removal

Recommended Posts

So I have a new model of cutting edge spaceplane, but it has a fairing at the front as a stage, which I DO NOT want to accidentally jettison. Is there a way where I can take that kind of thing out of the stage panel so that the space bar won't activate it? If not, I may need a newer front heat-resistant part for the nose.

This is the craft.

Isn't there a "Disable Staging" on the Part Action Window?

I'm 99% certain that the option to disable staging for fairings and decouplers is in stock, no mods required. Maybe with advanced tweakables?

Yes, there is.  I've used it from time to time, most often for inter-stage fairings (e.g. if I want to put an RA-2 in-line in a 1.25m airplane fuselage).

I should point out that a standard nose cone may be less draggy and just as heat resistant.

Nope. The Fairings are more heat resistant.

There should be a "disable staging" button in the fairings tweakables. click on that. if you can't see it, turn on "advanced tweakables" in the settings menu.

Yep! it was in advanced tweakables! thanks for that advice ;D
