I love MechJeb and use it for almost any flight, but what always annoyed me was that I either had to have an unmanned command module or a manned pod with a MechJeb part sticking out somewhere. So for this mod I tried to combine the two, solve that annoyance and share it with the rest of the world.

What this mod does is make the stock command modules behave like the unmanned pods that MechJeb adds, but with crew. So you get a nice looking spaceship without MechJeb parts sticking out and a crew to play around with. Since v1.1 it also contains stock SAS modules with MechJeb integrated, for when you want . Hope you enjoy it.

Awh sweet! this this awesome man! just want i needed. I hate trying to find room to add the mechjeb on to the side of a rocket. Makes it harder later on when i need to add more fuel and what not.

very cool you should get a hold of the mechjeb guys and see if they can add this in to the pack next update

It's good, but surely it needs a catch. Make the pod heavier? Bulkier? Make it more explosive... oh wait.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Anyway, I could make the pods heavier but then again wouldn't one already expect an on-board computer on at least the more advanced command modules and that the weight of the computer is already part of the weight of the pods? Also currently my pods replace the stock pods. How do you feel about that? Would you want the MechJeb version and non-MechJeb version side-by-side or do you want to keep it as it is now?

Definitely a way to keep the non MechJeb. When I don't want to use MechJeb, I don't want It on the side of the screen. Plus it helps when someone doesn't want any mods on a craft. It's easier then swapping out parts from the part file.

Yes, all the settings are the same except for the Part type.

How do I make a pod 2 seated instead of 1?

I edited the .cfg of the Mk1 Cockpit, but it still only has 1 kerbal in it

i dont see an issue with it if you want fly by hand you still can but this will be great with .17 since small errors get big when your shooting for other planets

Orthography errors

In R/L automation was the primary mode of most spacecraft manuvers. Manual was in case of automation failure or for task beyond the level of automation at the time. Different levels of MechJeb ability would be interesting, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, in a campaign/research type of game could be a feature as well as Mechjeb failures that could happen to a mission.

mechjeb isnt perfect as it is mine seems to fail at minmus injections >.>

but as it is its barely as good as the Apollo guidance computer

so even as it is now would some where between basic and intermediate

even the Shuttles computer is pretty crude

An elegant solution to something of a problem. I can only imagine that the Kerbals were standing round the design room and one pointed out, "Hey, is there a reason we don't just put the MechJeb computer inside the pod?"

They do. What I'm not understanding is why KSP cares, you only changed a word in the .cfg file. I wonder if it's on the MechJeb plugin side of things...

(Unless you updated the .cfg's since that was pointed out, I see you added that genericspace to the aircraft pods.

Yeah, but he's only releasing a part. The plugin itself is in the plugin-powered addons forum, and he was kind enough to link to it.

Really? My 2nd mechjeb run was to Minmus.
