What are "set1" "set2" etc?

Recommended Posts

In action groups, there are sets now. I truly don't know for sure that they came with Breaking Ground because I never really used action groups much, but I've never noticed them before and I *do* go in there sometimes.

What are they? Is it a way to toggle between different modes? Like, I can have 4 (or 5?) different modes and then my keys will control different things?

Or is it something else entirely? I'm betting on that because my first guess is usually wrong about stuff like this.

Yes it is a control-mode switch.

When you are running out of keyboard keys to control some complicated device,
so badly that it is worth creating your own analog to 'docking mode' to let the same keys do one job sometimes, another job at other times,

you can tick 'Activate Action Sets',  and then when you assign motions of a part to an action-group or axis-group you choose which set that assignment will be in: default, set1, set2, set3, or set4,

Then when you launch you get a new toolbar button, above the delta-V, with which you select which set is active.

Moving to Gameplay Questions, since this isn't actually a Breaking Ground thing. ;)

The switchable sets, like axis groups, are a stock feature introduced with KSP 1.7.1.
