LEM quadrant ordering...

Just a guess from staring at those two pics for 15 minutes....    Illustration2 shows just the science package location, but LIneDrawing shows both the (Early) Science Packages, and the Rover locations.  Since the rover didn't show up until Apollo 15 (?, forget the exact mission), that probably would have been space used for other scientific stuff.   I bet if you do a bit of research on how the managed to fit the rover onto the LEM, you might find your answers there.    Also, I know the LEM went through a few versions during it's lifetime, these pics don't seem to indicate exactly which block LEM we are looking at.

Another path you might take a look down, see if Northrop Grumman has anything historical on their website.   I know if I was their PR guys, I'd want a lot of the early LEM stuff digitized and hosted for people to look up.

The line drawing is correct for Apollo 11. You can look at the Apollo 11 surface EVA photos and see Buzz working at that station (the one labeled quadrant 2) to remove science equipment.

This is partly why I ask about quadrant 1. That is where LRV goes. Quadrant 1 originally was empty.

If not because of the cutaway picture, I would not have ask this question.

I did find this at the bottom of wikipedia page: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c5/Lunar_Module_Equipment_Locations_2_of_2.jpg. Should I always go for the blueprint, follow by line drawing, follow by Cutaways?
