atmospheric reentry

Hey there So i was just wondering,And i'm sorry if this has ben asked before,I did ru na search and din't find this question but.As we know right now atmospheric reentry is non existant.. like yea you come back but no matter what speed or angle or heat tolerance you have you will never burn up or bounce off the atmosphere.

We all know that u can use an atmospehere to slow yourself down and bounce like a skipping rock on water... i guess my question is will they Simulate atmosphere better in future releases? Because right now rentry feels..... well not right.Don't get me wrong i don't want ot bash the game ect and i know this is still erly in the development but i'm just curious.

Actually, you can skip off of the atmosphere Rather easily, actually. When returning from the Mun, set your kerbin periapse to 35 and you will skip off of the atmosphere, never to return.

I don't think you can "skip off" the atmosphere - that would require lift, which most spaceships in KSP don't have. What you can do is "skim through" the atmosphere and come out the other side.

Yeah, if you're "skipping off" the atmosphere, "never to return," that's a bug. It should spit you out the other side slightly slower with a much lower apoapsis on your highly elliptical orbit.
