as this is the only "the expanse" mod (that i know of) i (and judging from all the other previous replies) would appreciate it if a pre-release could be posted somewhere even if it is really buggy.

KSPI-e has KerboNerd's work, an Epstein Drive basically the same as shown in his demonstrations here. Unless he says so, there is no progress I believe.

If developments has stopped, can I get the source?

I think I can make somethink… Not sure, but maybe couple of Epstein drives for the first time I can create.
