... I leave my nuclear engine in orbit around duna while i go and land seperately then come back to it in orbit?

I guess it would be a DOR, Duna Orbit Rendezvous.

Some people also call it a mothership-lander-pair. This especially goes for cases where the thing that remains in orbit is not just an engine section, but actually a fully-fledged interplanetary vessel with life support systems, habitation space, and so on. There are mods which require you to have that sort of thing on long trips away from Kerbin.

You're welcome. (Well, I didn't do anything here to deserve the thanks, but I hope you get what I mean.)

My suggestion would be to practice rendezvous and docking a bit in Kerbin orbit. It is one of the more complicated and less intuitive maneuvers in KSP. (And in RL the crew of Gemini 4 failed when they tried this.)
