Any inflatable cushions/shock absorbers suggestions for hard landing?

Are there any up-to-date mods around that have something like inflatable airbags used on some Mars rover missions to absorb the shock when the payload is dropped from the sky crane? I've seen Inflatable airbags mod, but it seems to have been abandoned long ago.

The title says 1.3 but there is a newer download for 1.8.x. And I`m sure it works in 1.9.x too. 1.10.x don`t know.
