Orbit Question

Recommended Posts

I started a new career yesterday, and I'm going through all of the contracts and such pretty much one at a time.  I know you can do multiple ones at a crack, but for myself, doing them onesies helps me to better understand what I have to do instead of trying to focus on multiple things.

Anyhow, one of first ones is Orbit Kerbin, which states that you should get parallel to the planet and then get into a stable orbit.  I did that...or so I thought.  I circled the planet twice, but I didn't get credit for the orbit at all.  So I'm wondering if there's a minimum periapsis I need to hit in order to be considered truly in LKO?  I think my Pe was somewhere around 69k, and this is why I'm asking.  Do you need to hit a minimum Pe to be considered in LKO?

Also, the trajectory of the orbit was a little more ovoid than circular.  Does the orbit need to be mostly circular to count?  Or does that not matter?

For Stock Kerbin Pe should be above 70km for Earth 140km (with Real Solar System)
