What's the difference between the FTX-2 External Fuel Duct and the huge "Fuel hoses please" campaign?

Whats the difference of this and the huge "We want fuel hoses" campaign? Cant you place the external fuel duct outside on EVA using 1.11.1 construction mode?

For stock fuel ducts to work, your two craft still have to perform a hard docking -- using docking ports, or klaws.

The "hoses" thing doesn't require docking.

Interesting idea, but does it work? Doesn’t an engine have to be firing for the fuel to flow? I could be wrong (heck, I hope I am!) Someone will have to check this out, but I don’t think it’ll work.

Don't leave home Kerbin without it.

Unless you're stuck on console of course.

Dont think so, but it think the reason you think this is because engines use fuel which asks for fuel through the fuel hose

In 1.10 I used KAS and it worked great.  With 1.11 KAS simply disappeared.  Poof gone! 

  At the KSP I made a proof of concept fuel tanker that worked using the klaw and the hoses.  Sent it to the Mun and the Klaw works but the hoses don't.  But fuel now flows through the klaw so it's all good.  It still only fills one tank at a time instead of all of them at the same time.  Hoses were way better in KAS.
