  1. You do the detail and colouring in separate layers under the UV map, each detail in separate layers, and hide the UV while exporting the texture. It needs a base colour layer too.

  4. How much of this is made with the Extrude tool? Because that produces many zero-area faces in the UV map (not in 3D space, but texel space) that have to be expanded manually or by Smart UV Project.
  5. The nozzle might better be built as a separate mesh, then select both body and nozzle and Ctrl+J, then press Smart UV Project to automatically UV map it for you (cubes and simple things shouldn't end up with as much of a disorganized auto UV as more complex shapes like one-piece command pods with vents and windows and hatches and crap, so you're good to go)
