Help I can't make some fins

Recommended Posts

I am assembling some fins with "Gozne G-11", how do I make each fin fold to the same side? Since they fold in reverse to the other, they have told me not to use symmetry but I have seen how some people they do it with symmetry

I'm not sure what you're talking about-- are these "foldable fins" some part from a mod?  If so, perhaps you could ask your question in the mod's release thread.

Without knowing anything else about your situation it's hard to be sure, but have you tried switching the symmetry mode?  The KSP vehicle editor has two symmetry modes:

  • Radial
  • Mirrored

Radial is the default in the VAB, and mirrored is the default in the SPH.  However, you can toggle back and forth as you like-- the hotkey is "R" by default.  Perhaps you could try the other symmetry mode from whatever-you've-been-using and see if that helps do what you're trying to do?

I have tried what you recommended
but it does not work for me, as soon as I place a part on top of the
beam, the mode automatically changes to radial
here is a photo in case it helps you understand what i'm doing

A photo would really help, yes!  :)

However, I don't see any photo in your post.  To include a photo, you can do this:

  1. Post your photo to some public image-sharing website, such as imgur.com
  2. Once it's posted there, right-click on the image and choose "Copy image URL"
  3. Paste that URL into your forum post here, and it will be automatically converted to an in-line image.

It's not clear to me what you're asking about but if part A is placed in one kind of symmetry and then you try to attack part B to that, part B is automatically changed to the same symmetry setting. You might get around your problem by placing part A in the symmetry mode you want before attaching B to it.

I think he means like when you place 2 solar panels together, instead of unfolding symmetrically/mirrored, one flips around the wrong way. I've seen this as well, no idea if caused by situation above but only way I've found is like you've been doing : add as singles rather than multiples.
