Without mods, gas giants in KSP 1 lack clouds, weather, and other cool features that make such worlds worth exploring. The KSP 2 development team revealed that clouds will be a feature in the game, and they hinted that Jool looks amazing with them. My question is, how will the atmospheres and "surfaces" of gas giants in KSP 2 look? All I know is that they said a few days ago they were going to show Jools clouds, so you will probably have a real answer within this month.
