Propellers that work underwater?

How do I make the propellers work underwater? Why don't they generate lift underwater at the cost of causing drag that reduces the motor speed?

as far as i am aware, propellers do not work underwater because of a malfunction of the physical simulation of the water. yes, it sucks.

that was 6 months ago, i'm not aware if the problem has been fixed in the meanwhile. I'm also not aware on whether somebody made a mod for it - though i don't see much hype around submarines, so i don't expect it.

Sadly, there is no way to use the propeller blades underwater. They simply don't produce any thrust.

However, you can use regular control surfaces as propeller blades!

Stock props probably don’t (because let’s face it they aren’t very good all round) but I’m sure I’ve had Firespitter ones working (see airplane plus for some). It’s not something I do day to day so I might be mistaken however.

As an alternative, the smallest stock jet engine works quite well as a mini-sub engine. Don’t forget air intakes as game treats the engine as if you’re flying- sort of.
