What happened to KSP Demo version?

I'm just curios. There been a lot of confusion about KSP Demo. I heard they pulled KSP Demo from the market because the Squad though that people shouldn't be able to sample their game. Is this true? And if the demo exists where can I get it?

Nothing mysterious. They just haven't made a new one and the older one has fallen into disuse. It was always shareware so if you find a copy you're welcome to use it, but since there is no official source I would be very hesitant about just grabbing a copy off of the internet. It's a very old version now anyway. The last demo was v0.18.3.

I have a copy of the demo from 2017. Am I allowed to share it here in this forum?

It was fun to play. I used the demo version for participating in a challenge where you can only play in the demo version. Went to Minmus (the only farthest planet from Kerbin in the demo version) and back with the demo parts.

I'm advising against playing the demo version. Previous versions of KSP were much unstable with more Deep Space Krakens™ the older the version you play. But if anyone's cheaping out... there are other space sim games out there, just without the little green men.

There is no legal issue with sharing the demo, but at this point it hasn't been supported for so long that its use is not recommended. To emphasize that we ask that it not be traded through the official forum here. But thank you for the generous offer. :D

Folks, there is NO free demo maintained by Squad or Take-Two. If you find them offered on a third party site, they might contain everything from bugs to malicious code. I would not recommend downloading it - because I certainly would not want to take a chance of downloading anything that even had the potential of harvesting my data or wreaking havoc on my system.
