The origin of Mystery Goo.

So, i once sent a probe to Jool (a bit of a mix between the Voyagers and Jupiter/Saturn Pioneers, long story), and the probe had multiple cans of Mystery Goo. A bit before the Jool encounter i "opened" (what other word shuld i use?) one of those Mystery Goo canisters. The little flavor text read:

The goo feels right at home.

Perhaps we should take this literally?  Perhaps Mystery Goo originates from deep space?

A few other Mystery Goo reports yield interesting observations: on Kerbin, the Goo will naturally move towards water, accumulating on the ocean-facing side of the can in the shores and escaping into the water when splashed down; it also vibrates ominously on Bop..
