Explorer Satellites

Recommended Posts

Behold! A recreation of the Explorer 1 satellite! The explorer 1 was the USA's first satellite, and proved the existence of the Van Allen Belts. It was launched atop a Juno I rocket, on January 31st, 1958. The satellite was four stages, with the fourth still being attached once it got to orbit. It's a fairly faithful recreation to the Explorer satellites. It has about 5.5 km/s of DeltaV, and can re-create the orbital path really well. It even has experiments that are somewhat similar to the ones that were on explorer! Stock, of course.
