if it's black, you haven't got the IVA configs and textures loaded. 

If you installed it manually, in the ZIP download there is an Extras folder that has the IVA information. Copy the contents of the Extras into your GameData.

If you used CKAN, then you need to install the separate IVA mod.

i fixed the black screen but now mostly everything is see through except ladders and hatches

Can you provide any logs? Some mods might be conflicting.
