A new enclosure for a space mouse would do the trick.   

 

Edit: I’ve tried before with mixed success, but I know they’re notoriously hard to get to lay nice with ksp.

I'm not saying it would not, but they cost $200-$500. And I'm not sure they're 6 axis, I could be wrong.

Last time I looked it up, video editing was the only 6 axis I could find.

You can find them used for <$100, even <$50 if you look hard enough.    I got mine mint in box for $70.  A lot of people/corporations buy them new before realizing how weird they are, and since they’re a professional tool, they’re not nearly as abused as other devices
