How does one change the drone core which is in control?

I'm building a rover to send to Dres since it's transfer window is coming up, but the command of the vessel has been assigned to the rover core instead of the mk 2 drone core I have on the lander and it makes using the navball, controls and SAS functions very hard.

Is it possible to transfer control to said mk 2 drone core, I'm sure it would solve all the issues.

Yes. Just open the PAW of the mk2 drone core (right click) and then click "Control from here".

You can also set the Mk2 drone core as the root part using the set root widget (shortcut: 4) so that it's the default control part when launching.
