Absolutely agree with this.

It is a relatively easy check to make before launching a full mission, but still, if it flagged up in the engineer's report it would be very handy.

And an instantaneous HUD msg when placing/offsetting parts near a hatch.

Something similar warning about occluded RCS thrusters during placement/offsetting also.  I'm looking at you Service Bays with inflated plus sized occlusion meshes

Actually...

In a way this ties into my request for being able to check control surfaces in VAB.

What's needed is an overall functionality checking option in the VAB whereby we can operate the craft almost as normal...  I will think this over more carefully and  post a proper suggestion.

  • 2 weeks later...

I long ago adopted the practice of always testing hatch and ladder setups on the pad before launching a mission.

I had a ladder problem on Eve's surface once.  And several obstructed hatches when I first started playing.

Happy landings!

That was a really bad issue in KSP 1 and I thought every KSP player was sufficiently annoyed by it. I really wonder what the dev team means when they say they all played KSP 1. Did they? What did they do? Fly small planes?
