Gamepad and joystick support

I hope this comes sooner rather than later.  I recently started building some planes but controlling them with keyboard keys feels very awkward.  I would love to fly more in this game but I might wait until we have some smoother controls. 
Controlling rockets would likely be much better and less wobbly if we had more smooth precise controls as well.

Absolutely. In terms of things that should be higest priority, This is like number 1 to me now.

Steering planes and rockets with no analog support is rough.  It would just make the game so much more playable and enjoyable.
