Missions "one small step" mun landing mission not completing when landing on the mun

Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes 
OS: Windows 10 | CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz | GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 | RAM: 16GB

 

today I launched my first successful crewed mun landing in KSP 2's latest update, 'for science!' after having completed all the new missions and gathered tons of science leading up to the "one small step" mission to do so. however upon landing, i have not received the completion for the mission. the craft has the landed status on the mun, so something internal to the game must be preventing my progression.

I want to progress further, but im essentially locked at this point of the game until I can fix it.

Did you land in a dark patch on the mun? Looking at the terrain, I don't think you did.

is that a requirement for the 'One Small Step' mission?

I think they got this confused with a secondary mission which requires you to plant a flag on a mare.
