Add more navigation buttons to the Space Center

Recommended Posts

So I really love the VAB and R&D center buttons in the Mission Control window. I’ve always felt it’s a bit tedious to navigate around the space center menus and this is a good solution. I’d like to see it implemented more comprehensively and universally across the board, so there are buttons to quickly jump from any building to any other building right on the screen.

I did find the buttons in the escape menu. For some reason I still find the buttons in the Mission Control window far more pleasant to interact with. I don't know if it's that they are bigger and easier to read, or if it's that it's one less button click to get there, but even having trained myself to use the esc button, my first thought when I want to change windows is to look if there's a button for it in mission control.

I'd argue that's a quick way to clutter everything, especially given that the Esc menu makes it all redundant.

I do like them when I need to go to one of those two buildings. For me I think it may be that they give me a visible target for mouse movement planning, which feels more comfortable than having to press the Esc menu to reveal them ("It's right there" vs "It'll be somewhere over here"). It's nice that they thought about which building-to-building switches will be most commonly needed (even if they missed the Tracking Station!).
