Writing software is easy. Writing software professionally is hard. Writing good software and staying profitable is really, really hard.

Writing backwards compatible software is a nightmare... Just chipping in to offload my current frustrations.

I would like to say that if yall are talking about communication you can take it to the “what happened to increased communication” thread. I think we should be thankful that Dakota let us know pretty quick that this inference that was made in the beginning of this thread was false. That’s good communication and keeping some expectations in check which is what we say we want. Yes of course I would also love more information on colonies or the next patch but that’s a different type of communication (i.e. leaks)

A different type of communication i.e. leaks? So are you saying that we bought a game in EA and should be thankful that a CM commented on a false assumption by a purchaser of the game that there might be an upcoming patch? You are also suggesting that the only way we might expect real information about the dev cycle is through leaks?

No I’m just saying that we asked for a bit more transparency and that’s what I got from Dakota very soon after this topic went up. I think for moral of both community and development we should recognize goods done by the dev team.

I'm certainly appreciative of a CM stepping in and squashing a rumor, but this is far from the transparency the community has been asking for.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
