@The Minmus Derp what are DresMoon2 and Selbig???? I found them in the Cache file of OPX-SSM. Is Selbig the Eve moon? DresMoon2 is kinda self explanatory.

EDIT: Why did you resize Minmus? To make it more comet-like? Is that why it's set to Comet?

DresMoon2 and Selbig are two relics of some mediocre test articles that I created early in development and later cut. Feel free to get rid of them. Neither Dres nor Eve will receive moons in any part of OPX in current plans. Minmus is resized because 60 km is really really huge for something clearly coded as a "minor moon". It's larger than all but the top two or three moons of Saturn and three times larger than Mimas, the smallest major moon.

I'm currently working on an update of OPX-SSM that removes the unnecessary cache files and adds some more settings options, including that resize. The Comet option is being removed so as to not get in the way of other plans.

OPX-SSM has been updated! v0.2.0 "Red Dawn" has been released, with new settings and actual functionality for some of the broken old ones!

image.png?ex=66c00711&is=66beb591&hm=5af

Changelog:

  • Settings redone from the ground up
    • Minmus move can actually be deactivated now
    • MinmusRelocation and MinmusPosition functionality merged
  • New option for Kerbol: Subgiant
    • Kerbol at stock size should be much cooler than it is to have that luminosity, so now it is if you want
    • New sunspot texture for Subgiant kerbol
  • Stock kerbol setting (neither realism patch is activated) now still comes with the latitudinal biomes and displayName

As always, inform me if anything's wrong and submit suggestions into the suggestion box linked in the OP.

OPX-SSM v0.2.1 hotfix has been released, after I sleepily realized that Hilda Minmus and Trojan Minmus had the same SMAs in the config. Also, a little bit of eccentricity was added to make things more realistic in Stock-position Minmus and OPX-position Mun.

After this I think I can get away with leaving SSM on the shelf for a good while as I focus on finishing the bigger ones. The last reasonably sized things I need to do with it all involve atmospheres which I am not prepared for, and I really really need to get around to the Urlum asteroids.

OPX-SarnusPlus update!

Complete revamp for Ovok (rather simplistic, since Methone is rather simplistic), fixes for Ryla and Hypo's PQS, and two pseudo bodies, Egin and Palar

Potentially dumb question, but what is a pseudo body in this context?

So I wanted to add analogs for a number of minor moons, but adding them all as normal celestials would oversaturate the system with science to a degree that would make it hopelessly unbalanced. Pseudobodies are a fix for that initially developed by @WarriorSabe for Edge of Eternity, adding ten shepherd moons to the rings of Cerberus. Each group of pseudobodies would add up in scienceValues to one normal object in that position once you've visited every celestial in the group. They're basically set dressing.

Sarnus' group of pseudobodies is incomplete, but when its done it will have around five small objects orbiting in the inner system. The final plans for JoolPlus, SarnusPlus, UrlumPlus, and NeidonPlus all include one or more groups of pseudobodies to fill out groups of objects that should be present without oversaturating the system with science or making the mainline celestials have cripplingly small amounts of it.

ALSO. For anyone who downloaded the latest OPX-SarnusPlus update, get rid of the cache/pseudobodies folder and let it regenerate. There are a couple issues with the pseudobodies' scaledspace appearance that should be fixed by that.

I use the Minmar rings mod and when i put the Minmus Relocation setting to stock it throws up a warning. Is it ok if you add a patch to help with Minmar rings compatablility?

Thanks! Ryla looks a lot better now. I'll figure out something on my end for Phabus and then this might be good enough to plug into the main savefile finally.

Of the set, Sarnus/Urlum/NeidonPlus are the ones I'm definitely most interested in; those might be the ones I end up using, with the various moon revamps probably taken out for a while since Outer Parallax already has nice configs for those.

I'm returning to OPX-UrlumPlus after a good bit, to build some new objects for it. Hock and Picna have been made, but require some playtesting. Now it will be adding more than two objects!Screenshot_2024-08-17_at_10.19.40_PM.png

My question is: does it work? Warnings are often immaterial. If it actually causes a problem with the operation of the game, then let me know.

You're welcome! Ryla was a really tricky one to pull off, to be honest. I can't fathom why Phabus is going wrong, but I wish you luck in figuring it out.

It does work with the mod installed, i'm just concerned that it might cause the "shepherd Minmus" mode to not work properly

I haven't tested it with MKR, so to save me some time since you apparently are, is it in the right position? If not, I can add an extra segment to the Minmus thing to yank it back into the right orbit (and tone down the science because sweet jesus MKR science mode is way too easy)

In other news, I'm working on Biscotti, the last unfinished mainline moon of Urlum.

v0.3.0 "Aster" of OPX-UrlumPlus has been released! Check it out on spacedock and github! It adds three new moons, fixes some visual issues with Dathil's stupidly deep canyons, and I realized I forgor to add biomes to Pab and Pymm so it has Pymm biomes now. As usual, inform me if anything's wrong and drop suggestions in the box.

hock has no biomes

turn on "biomes visible" it definitely has biomes. It may not have *many* biomes, it has just two, but it definitely has biomes.
