HOCgaming's THAT'S NO MOON! Base - Craft Submission Thread

I made a rover that was supposed to fix the docking port height problem. But when it docks to something, both crafts start spinning rapidly. Obviously, this can happen to any 2 crafts, but with my rover it happens every time. This makes it perfect for exploring this bug.

One thing you can do with this bug is locking rotation of a craft:

(it's sitting on the docking port, and everything is in equilibrium, even though center of mass is not above the docking port)

There might be other uses for it too. I'll look into them later.

Look a couple posts ago. You'll see the Orbital Outpost I submitted. I've improved upon the design by creating a far smaller version. Behold:

THE BUS STOP OF THE FUTURE!

AKA: Tiny Tin Bus Stop

PICTURES:http://imgur.com/a/P1VR0

In the previous post about the older design, it explains how to get up to it. From there, a space bus will transport kerbals from the station to Kerbin. This smaller design allows for more add-ons, such as the cannon I built for display. The original plan was to take a cannon to and back from the station and the Mun.

RESOURCES:

710 ElectricCharge (5 cannon module. NO POWER SOURCE ONBOARD)

300 Monopropellant (200 cannon module)

270 LiquidFuel. All Cannon Module. Contains respective oxidizer amount.

Power source onboard main unit is 4 OX-B panels.

4 kerbal max containment. Probe bodies on both main unit and cannon module.

Cannon engines are LV-T30s. All tests done from roughly 25 kilometers above the Mun's surface.

As always, thank you for reading.

EDIT (thanks, TMA): Part count is 66 for the craft file, however only 62 actually stay in orbit around the Mun.)

Hi there,

This is my suggestion for a small lightweight Space Station, or rather a Docking station. it has a dockingport in each direction and the top and bottom docking node is marked with small batteries for easy spotting.

download without the lifting stage: http://www./download/z676varr1azpaqe/Mun_Orbital_Docking_Node_mk1.craft

I've made a launcher that will get it to munar orbit with plenty of fuel remaining in the nuclear drive stage.

After another crippling series of lawsuits and criminal investigations, Taco Industries is back on its feet and is proud to present its newest product: The Taco Industries Basic Space Station. Think we're lying? THINK AGAIN.

Gallery: http://imgur.com/a/GARny#0

Packed with plenty of RCS and some fuel tanks for refueling, this station is perfect for any quick flyby. It is also 100% self-sustaining, with 4 large solar panels and 4 RTGs for night time use. It even comes with space for an onboard crew of up to six kerbals. You can dock from either side of the station, because it includes 2 HOC-standard docking clamps. Below are some stats:

Weight: 15ish tons

Part count: 39

Too lazy to click the imgur gallery? We understand. Here's a picture.

Here is my entry for the small space station. It's as simple as it can get without lacking detail. It's controled form a probe so it has space for two kerbals and has fuel to land on the Mun or get back to Kerbin from a munar orbit. It also has a parachute just in case you want the kermans to return safely and not just crash them.

Parts: 56

Mass: 6.89

Also available a model with a hitchhiker storage container, though it doesn't look as cool:

Parts: 57

Mass: 9.39

For both models, custome1 toggles the solar panels and custome2 decouples things attached to the docking port.

Kupa Technologies proudly presents, the Multi Dock Core (MDC)

Information:

The Multi Dock Core (MDC) is designed as a three part utility depot.

Core Function: Establish three identical cores in separate orbits. Each core serves the role of a way-station.

Equipped with the following:

Way-Station X3, X4 Standard Docking Ports per core (in-total X12)

Fully Functional Probe X1, X1 Junior Docking Port

Atomic Engine X2

Mun Tower;

Completed shielded from elements and self contained. Powered by 32 RTGs and has space for 64 kerbals The garage has two docking ports for securing any rovers you wish to operate from it(as is specifically designed for DEMV mk4). The garage attached to the decoupler is designed to be decoupled upon landing, its only used to balance the center of mass during flight. Has multiple sets of lights all which can be toggled via 1-7 hotkeys.

The rocket could probably use a lot of tweaking, as when I landed this thing I bad no fuel.

I recently did a study to find out how much cheese was in the Neil Armstrong Memorial. Our researchers use state of the art ultrasound to analyse the memorial, and found an entire wheel of cheese. however, the cheese was not like any cheese kerbal kind had made. The cheese has benn named Bigus Explodus (or The Green Cheese). we believe it has some Blutonium in it (we put a Do Not Eat label on it). hope it comes in handy ;)

So I'm kinda confused as to what you mean by the mission brief, but I have a craft to turn the memorial into a second beacon.

The Armstrong Illumination Craft, it comes with four small unmanned lighted probes to light the sides of the memorial up.

Because I'm to lazy to take it to the mun, here's it pretending the base craft is the memorial.

http://imgur.com/RUMFEzz

It weighs about 31 tons, including the final stage fuel, and has 103 parts in the final stage.

I think he means this:

Current Construction Brief:

For now we must research the Neil Armstrong's monument to determine its capability to act as a support for... classified purposes. Report back to this thread with any interesting experiments you have carried out.

DiEvAL, I think minerman is trying to say that teh "classified purposes" isn't very informative. For example, someone could interpret that as firing rockets into it and someone else can try awakening the dead kermans with it. He's got a valid point
