RandomKid
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMi34sQ0iUk TL; DR: They'll just try to make money out of dead games. That's it, we're 100% dead. No more updates. Looks like KSA is the future.
Lisias
Well... Apparently, it's not game over yet. Haveli will honor Private Division’s pre-existing contracts, including Tales of the Shire: A “The Lord of the Rings” Game, Game Freak’s unannounced title, codenamed Project Bloom, and Kerbal Space Program. https://gameranx.com/updates/id/523449/article/private-divisions-buyer-has-launched-a-new-game-publishing-company-with-annapurnas-former-staff/
Lisias
Additionaly, Haveli have stakes on two Game Studios: Candivore: US private equity firm Haveli Investments, L.P. has acquired a minority interest in Israeli mobile games company Candivore for USD100 million. Texas-based Haveli says it will fund the transaction from Haveli VC Gaming Fund I, L.P. Founded in 2018, Tel Aviv-based gaming studio, Candivore, is best known as the developer of Match Masters, a competitive match-3 puzzle game, which has generated more than USD300 million in revenue to date. Behaviour Interactive: In early 2022, Behaviour Interactive Inc. (“Behaviour”) entered into an investment agreement with NetEase Interactive Entertainment, an existing shareholder, and Haveli Investments, a new investor, pursuant to which a minority stake of Behaviour was acquired. This equity financing will allow Behaviour’s continuous growth, including through acquisitions. Behaviour, headquartered in Montreal, is Canada’s largest independent game developer, employing more than 1,000 talented people, with over 200 games released since their beginnings in 1992. They are expanding their business into gaming, have stakes on (at least) two gaming companies and now own their own Publisher. It's obvious these guys are expanding into gaming - so any statement telling that these guys aims only on making money from dead games is, well, highly speculative to say the least. Granted, as anyone saying they will not.
Skorj
That gameranx article is just commenting on the videogameschonicle article. The videogameschonicle article is just commenting on a Bloomberg article, which is paywalled. The Bloomberg articles was by Jason Schreier, and is probably the only article out there on the subject that isn't written by AI. All that article states is that the ex-Annapurna company will distribute, not develop, the PD games. Which makes sense, since ex-Annapurna are not developers. All else is AI hallucination, for now. The future will tell if the corporate vulture's attempts to monetize their assets will lead to a new studio, but I think they're just going to do licensing. EDIT: Lisias, they also have minority ownership in Jagex, a rather more known studio. Whether anyone can make money off of Runescape is a different question: it's gone through several owners in the past few years. It's what I think too. Investors aims to maximize the earnings and minimizing risks - and what would be the best way to minimize development risks if not by outsourcing them? 29 minutes ago, Skorj said: EDIT: Lisias, they also have minority ownership in Jagex, a rather more known studio. These guys are literally spreading everywhere they can. Wondering about what Cost Center is managing these acquisitions - if they have a R&D Cost Center, we may be seeing a new player with very large backs breaking into the market. mrneon
Why even bother to buy a dead game just to try to sell it further? Or maybe they will show any interest to KSP2. If it's over, it's over, unless someone makes mods that add all the KSP2 features, like in the KSP2 trailer.

Like the Estes merch deal, for example. God I hope not a single soul bought those, a man can dream. Not out of contempt for Estes, mind you, just so these new guys don't see a single cent out of KSP/2 without opening their mouth and clarifying stuff first. The other Jeb is still available. However Jeb is Jeb, he can't be stopped. For reference, they only allow purchase of 916 of them. Is it okay to estimate there's only 1000 produced of each? Apparently, things are not going bad. ------- I tried buying 1500 Vals, and the UI allowed. So apparently they build more than 1000, and sold them. ------- Great!! They accepted my credit card! I FINALLY could buy some KSP merch after all these years! By reasons beyound reason, P.D. refused to sell me anything connecting from my IP in Brazil, even by having a address in USA to receive the merch and handle all the Customs mambo jambo - and I could not use a VPN to fool their <insert-your-favorite-non-forum-compliant-expletive-here> "security check" because I can't buy things using Credit Card on a VPN without infringing my CC Insurance clauses, voiding the insurance - what's a dumb move when doing international transactions. Things are already improving! Edited Monday at 02:26 PM by Lisias Post edit
